Cyndi Wang is one of the most popular artists in Taiwan and Asia. Started her career as a singer, Cyndi is now a recognized actress as well.

Cyndi Wang was signed by Avex and trained for 3 months in Japan before recording her debut album, Cyndi: Begin in 2003. Her debut album did pretty well, but was criticized for imitating on popular singer Jolin Tsai.

Those critics didn’t hurt though, as Cyndi released her 2nd album, Cyndi Loves You, in 2004, which also achieved good results. Cyndi also starred in popular TV drama La robe de Mariee des cieux in 2004. The combination of success made Cyndi the hottest rising star in Taiwan.

Eugene Kim went solo after the band was disbanded in 2002, but her solo music career is just ok.

Eugene Kim is better known as an actress these days, thanks to the success of popular TV dramas like Save Your Last Dance for Me and Wonderful Life.

Eugene Kim was born in Seoul, but spent large part of her childhood and teen-age in Guam.

When she was still in Guam, Eugene was discovered by SM Entertainment from an audition tape, and was signed to form a girls-group, namely S.E.S.

S.E.S made their debut in 1997, and was hugely popular until they were disbanded in 2002. S.E.S managed to produce half a dozen of Korean albums and a few Japanese albums as well.

Eugene Kim went solo and released 2 albums in 2003 and 2004, but the sales were not satisfying.

Anita Yuen is an award winning actress; she won the Hong Kong Film Awards twice as the best actress in the 90s.

Anita Yuen is married to fellow actor Julian Cheung. She gave birth to their first child in November 2006.

Anita Yuen started her entertainment career after winning the Miss Hong Kong pageant in 1990. She made her acting debut in 1992 in a TVB series, and starred in some other TV dramas and movies.

Anita Yuen made her breakthrough in 1994 with movie C’est la vie, mon chéri, which won her the best actress award in Hong Kong Film Awards.

Li Yuchun is one of China’s most popular singer. She made instant fame after winning the American-Idol like singing contest, Super Girl in 2005.

The phenomenol of her popularity has gained notice worldwide as she was featured in Times Magazine shortly after her triumph in Super Girl contest.

Yuchun’s parents always wanted their daughter to become a doctor, but Yuchun made the decision that she wanted to become a singer when she was 18. Her persistent won the support of her parents and she enrolled into a music school in Sichuan.

In 2005, Yuchun entered the Super Girl contest and qualified to represent Chengdu in the nationwide competition. Although not regarded as the best vocalist, Yuchun’s personality and charm won her the competition, which was based on nationwide voting.

Li Yuchun released her first single, Sweetheart, I Love You, shortly after winning the Super Girl contest.

Choi Ji-woo is one of the most famous Korean actresses in Asia region. She was made popular with TV dramas like Winter Sonata and Stairway to Heaven.

Choi Ji-woo was first noticed when in an audition in 1994, and got her first acting experience in 1995 with TV drama War and Love. In 1996 Choi starred in high rated TV drama First Love alongside Bae Yong-joon and gained wide popularity in Korea.

Kwon Boa (often referred as BoA only) is one of the most famous pop-stars in Asia. Born in Korea and trained as a bilingual artist (Korean and Japanese), Boa is very popular in both Korea and Japan, as well as across the Asia region.

Boa was signed by her agency when she was just 11. She was trained for a few years (including months of trainings in Japan) before releasing her debut Korean album, “ID; Peace B” in 2000.

Crystal Liu is currently one of China’s most popular artists, and very popular in some other Asia region as well. Crystal Liu is most famous with TV drama Return of the Condor Heroes, which was arguably the most viewed TV drama in Asia for 2006.

Crystal Liu moved to USA with her mother (parents divorced) when she was around 10 years old. She was back to China when she was 15 to enroll in the prestigious Beijing Film Academy; Crystal is one of the youngest ever students to make it into the academy.

It was in the same year that Crystal was offered her debut TV appearance in Story of a Noble Family as supporting role. The drama was quite a hit and people were noticing the young Crystal Liu.

Crystal Liu then starred in the highly acclaimed Demi Gods, Semi Devils as one of the leading actress. The success of the TV drama also prompted Crystal to star in a couple of movies, Love of May and The Love Winner.

Bernice Liu Biography

Bernice Liu first came into the Hong Kong entertainment scene as the winner at Miss Chinese International Pageant 2001.

Bernice Liu was attending University of British Columbia when she won the pageant contest, but decided to sign contract with TVB to start her entertainment career instead.

Bernice Liu made her debut in popular sitcom series Virtues of Harmony, which was showed in 2001-2005 (including sequel), with over 700 episodes all together.

Bernice Liu then starred in popular TV drama Love Bond and Healing Hands 3 in 2005, and her popularity continued to grow.

Bernice Liu tried to expand her career into singing in 2006. Bernice didn’t manage to get her own album, but contributed to the compilation album All About Women (or Lady In Red) which involves a few other TVB artists.

2006 seemed a quiet year for Bernice, but fact is she’s busy with all the events appearances, and was signed by Nike as their spokesperson. She surprisingly came #2 at the year end list of top earning TV artist in an unofficial report.
